FAQ

How do you ship packages?

Domestic orders are shipped from Brooksville, Maine, via USPS First Class mail or Priority Mail depending on their weight. We do our best to ship all orders within two business days, but note that any order placed after 12 noon on Friday will be shipped the following week.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes we do! International orders are happily shipped via USPS First Class Mail International Parcel.

An important note: We are legally obligated to represent all international purchases as “merchandise” and with exact values; we do not mark items as “gifts” or declare a value lower than the price paid by the buyer.

Other countries may charge customs fees. You may be subject to import duties and taxes, which are levied once the package reaches your country. Clara Yarn is not responsible for any additional charges for customs clearance. Customs policies vary widely from country to country; please contact your local customs office for further information.

Once packages leave the U.S., they are the responsibility of your national postal service. We can provide customs numbers and package information upon request, but we cannot provide tracking or estimated arrival details. That information is in the hands of your local post office or customs.

Do you sell wholesale?

Not yet. We love yarn stores and want to support them in every way possible. However, our inventory is so small and ever-changing that we can't sufficiently support the needs of yarn stores. Moreover, because our yarns come in such small batches, we cannot price them in a way that would be economically viable for the LYS or consumer. But please know we're keeping this on our radar screen for the future.

Do you offer yarn support for designers?

We love knitwear designers and want to support them in their work. At times, the limited and ever-changing nature of our yarn makes this a challenge. Talk to us. Tell us what you're thinking. Let's see what we can do.

When will you have more yarn?

The seasonal, artisanal nature of what we do means that each batch is small and will go quickly. Subscribe to our mailing list and we'll let you know what we're doing and when the next yarn is here. We promise to keep the emails short and sweet, and never to share your information with anyone else.

Can I pay by check?

Sorry, no. We currently accept online payments via Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and PayPal.

What is your return policy?

We want you to love your yarn as much as we do. If you are unhappy with your order for any reason, simply return your unused skeins in their original condition (i.e. not opened or rewound) to us within 30 days for a full refund of your original purchase price. We cannot refund shipping charges.

Send returns to:
Clara Yarn, LLC
℅ Quince & Co.

You will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning your item.

Where are you located?

Clara Yarn is headquartered wherever Clara happens to be, which depends on the day, lunar cycle, and barometric pressure. Whenever we have them, our yarns reside in a rented corner of the Quince & Co. warehouse at Cutts Mill in Saco, Maine.

Can I visit you?

Our lack of a formal headquarters makes visits an impossibility. But thanks for asking.

Who are you?

We are Clara Parkes, Jane Cochran, Adi Kehoe, and a network of farmers and wool workers around the world. Here's our story.

How can I reach Clara about speaking at an event?

Right here! I'd love to hear from you.
